How to Bet on Horses, Big Or Small?

How to Bet on Horses, Big Or Small?
Do you consider yourself a large or small punter? No matter what your answer, when it comes to winning and making a profit, in the long run, it really doesn't matter. If you bet in hundreds or thousands, a 3 to 1 winner pays for another 3 bets. If you bet in pounds a 3 to 1 winner pays for another 3 bets. Its all relative. This may seem obvious but its good to be reminded that profit is the point of betting, whether it be in pennys or pounds.
Some people that bet in large amounts might be forgiven for thinking that they are doing great if they get a return of 3 grand from their winner, and the smaller punter may feel its hardly worth betting for a 3 pound return, but its all the same. Its good to have this pointed out to us every now and then. Its very easy to become downhearted when betting small, and to think its not worth the time and effort. It most definitely is worth it. It is sometimes more difficult to bet in small amounts and stay focused on making a profit, due to the small amounts changing hands, and the temptation to think the odd pound or two doesn't matter. On the other hand, if betting big, its easy to fool yourself into thinking that you are doing well, when really your not. It can also depend on other life circumstances. If thousands dont matter much to you then you'll bet in a carefree manner. The same with a small punter. If money does matter to you, be it thousands or pence, then your betting will be more careful.
This is where conscientious bet recording is essential.
In the quest for profit, there is no difference between the penny and the pound punters. You must know where you are starting from. Then you can work towards your goals.
Goal setting is another area that is often ignored by horse gamblers. What is your point in backing horses?
Are you trying to win? What for? What time frame are you working within? All questions that you will need to answer if you are going to make your betting a success.
